Balance Your Fitness And Friends This Holiday Season

Odds are that you are buckling yourself to attend at least 1 of your close friend or cousins wedding this season along with all the crazy Christmas and New year’s party plans.

With the excitement comes a bit or worry as well. You are scared for losing all your gains, putting on a lot of weight and throwing all the month’s hard work through the drain. You are trying to come up with plans to balance your fitness with party & friends but do not know how to go about it. Well, worry not just keep reading.

Take Initiative to make plans:

Take the initiative effort making plans, this way you are in control of what places to choose, you can select a place that serves the food of your choices that helps you be on track with your Macro intake.

You can also host dinners at home. By doing so, you are in total in charge of what ingredients you include in the food, the quantity etc.

Track Alcohol:

I know how it sounds and logically you cannot track alcohol precisely.But you can definitely prepare for it. Cut down calories from your day so you have them saved for the night. Keep a track of how many drinks you are having.

Make the alcohol lighter by having them with soda, on the rocks of zero calories beverages.

If you are a regular lifter or an athlete keep in mind that alcohol slows down the recovery process.

For this reason, make sure you are well rested the day after, get you sleep cycle right, stay hydrated and train accordingly.

Have Fun:

The entire idea of holiday season is to have fun, spend time with loved ones and make memories. So you will not lose all your gains by missing on your workout for a week and likewise you will not gain all the weight lost back by enjoying or treating yourself for 6-10 days.However, it’s always good to stay with good habits. Be mindful of the portion size of your meals and number of drinks you are having.

Sticking with your diet and training schedule is non-negotiable and that’s what gets you results. However, cancelling all your plans and cutting yourself off from social life is more damaging. So enjoy the holiday season!
