GET YOUR SOLUTION FOR BINGE EATING.
Healthy snacks are supposed to be your go to solution for weight loss and adapting to a Fit 7 Healthy Lifestyle, but for many people it’s like following the path blindly with a stick which leads straight to pith of overeating.
Yes! That’s right.
You just bought a bags full of zero sugar, high protein, less fat cookies and other snacks. You know you are supposed to eat it as a snack and stop it after having 2 or 3, but you end up finishing up the whole pack in one go.
You just have to spread the low fat peanut butter on bread, but before you know you have licked up half the jar.
But then Pravin, what’s wrong with it, it’s a healthy snack right??
Well healthy does not mean it does not have calories.
Let’s not forget the inevitable law of Fat loss, “to lose weight stay in a calorie deficit for consistent amount of time” Now, this is totally ignored by you while binging on your healthy snack. It’s simple, if you eat more than what you spend you will gain weight and vice versa.
So, even your healthy snack needs to had like a snack, do not make a meal out of it unless you are going to skip your meal which is fine occasionally.
But How Can You Win the Fight with Overeating??
Let’s look at what causes you to overeat.
Most people eat just out of boredom.
Yes, stress eating is a thing. By this I mean physical and mental stress. You may be stress out cause of some personal or professional commitments or just too tired physically. This results in your cortisol levels being high and a direct reaction is to eat more to suppress this.
This is probably the major issue in today’s gadget savvy age. Get your sleep guy’s do not miss out on it. It causes anxiety, makes you feel depressed and stressed all the time.
We do not realize it but dehydration does cause you to binge eat to fulfill the bodies need for energy.
Yes, if you suffer from it, get medical help.
You have gone to extreme for too long to stay fit and now you cannot wait any longer without your favorite food. You suddenly can’t stop now. You say to yourself that I will cheat for a week and then get back to my strict routine, but in a blink of an eye the week turns into months.
So, you see you experience craving mostly as a coping mechanism for your emotional turmoil.
Now that I have given you the problems, let me leave you with the solution as well.
1: Well, you have already taken the first step of making smart choices and replacing all the junk food with healthy choices. Now, you just need some will power and smart counting strategy.
Try this, instead of carrying the whole packed of protein cookies, pack 3-4 cookies for yourself along with your lunch box.
2: Get your Meals on time:
As having long gaps will eventually starve you and your mind will go towards all the junk food.
3: Stay hydrated:
as drinking water is essential and it also keeps you full.
4: Keep yourself busy:
Engage in some activity or just casual talks with friends and family rather than passing your time binging on some snack. Rather binge on some NETFLIX & HOTSTAR.
5: Treat yourself once in a while:
Beak the stereotype routine you have and go out, treat yourself without any guilt. But most importantly, once you get back to your routine stay with it, without any guilt of all the food you had.
There is no crime in treating & loving yourself.
REMEMBER: It’s all about creating healthy habits.
